Donations of new unwrapped toys, hats, gloves, scarves, and socks are being accepted. New or “like new” winter coats (adult and child) can be donated as well. There’s even a convenient Amazon Wish List.

Drop a Donation at 200 University Avenue – Many of our partners are hosting donation sites for toys, new hats, coats, and gloves. The donations from each site will be utilized to create gift packages for nominated children. Excess toys will be donated to family shelters and service organizations to supplement ongoing organizational needs.Need a pickup? No problem, send an email to staff.council@newark.rutgers.edu and we’ll schedule a convenient time to come to your office!

Letters of Hope & Well-Wishes Campaign: Your Words Can Uplift our Community! – Supporters are invited to share written messages of encouragement with community members, including grandparents raising grandchildren, senior citizens experiencing isolation, military-connected families, and households affected by recent changes in governmental and support services, as well as those facing financial hardship or housing insecurity.

Senior Generations Celebration: Honoring Grandparents Raising Grandchildren – Our first annual gathering on Thursday, December 18, 2025 will celebrate grandparents and elder caretakers who have sustained family stability under challenging circumstances- they are all raising their grandchildren. We welcome sponsored prizes, warm winter accessories, and volunteer service as we provide meals, entertainment, and care packages.
