Safe Zone 101 Training
November 12, 2020 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Safe Zone Training is an educational program committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming climate for the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning) community. Safe Zone is a two-part training series (Safe Zone 101 and Safe Zone 102) and we have multiple training dates available throughout the semester. We request that all participants RSVP for SafeZone prior to attending by registering through the HR Event Calendar.
Safe Zone 101: an introduction to the LGBTQ community, which includes a brief overview of the meaning of the LGBTQ acronym and important moments in LGBTQ history. Through interactive activities and group discussion, participants will explore important terminology, such as sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, and gender expression. In addition, participants will be introduced to gender neutral pronouns and gender-inclusive language.
