#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that takes place each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Food insecurity, or unreliable access to nutritious meals, is a growing problem on college campuses, especially as students and their families recover from the effects of the pandemic. In the coming weeks, you can help fill plates and fuel the minds of students at Rutgers–Newark by joining a friendly faceoff for Rutgers food pantries. Last year we had the higher amount of donations but Camden edged us out with the higher number of donors. This year let’s go for both!
On campus from November 16-30, 2021, our community of faculty, staff, and students will come together to collect pantry items for students in need of support. This Giving Tuesday, let’s make sure everyone has a place at the table. Collection drive dates and locations listed below:
- Tuesday, November 16, 2021 – RU-N Alumni Center, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 17, 2021 – Paul Robeson Campus Center, 2:30 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
- Monday, November 22, 2021 – Paul Robeson Campus Center, 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
